Twisting Copy Right Concepts

People will always have different opinions on what is right and wrong. Abortion, stem cell research, and capital punishment are just the same kind of argument to me as stealing copy right music. In my opinion, twisting peoples' music should be perfectly fine. Everyone who makes a chair, doesn't owe the inventor of a chair money or credit.

Thomas Edison isn't suing everyone who uses electricity. I world is doing nothing but evolving, ideas are being created and modified, so why can't music be? I fail to see how artists can even claim that a rhythm they made can never again be recreated or tweaked. maybe they deserve SOME recognition if it's their voice, but a few beats?

There are so many rhythms and songs that can actually make sense and people enjoy. In my opinion, music will eventually be harder to make and create because of all the songs that are being produced.

Remixes are an awesome way to make music. They are also almost their own genre of music today. I personally love remixes because they are a great way to see how beautiful creations can be turned into something else thats awesome.

MY SOLUTION to help prevent copy right infringement, if the majority of people feel that there is such thing, is for someone to design a program thats based on wavelengths, and frequencies of musics that is almost like a "Turn-it-in.com" to see if anything comes out and see how related to a certain piece of work. Maybe this has already been made, maybe not. I am sure the government can come up with the technical specs to make it legit.

in-class special guest

After being absent the prior week,I expected this to be a miserable day in class trying to caught up. Because I was casually late (chem lab across campus took too long) I walked in to see 3 people in the room. Invincible and Waajeed were a surprise guest. I was confused as to why they were here in our class until they began talking about who they were and where they came from and what they did.

Their work with their music was inspiring with how they presented it and what it was about. Watching the music video wasn't like other garbage rap videos. Most rap videos are now vulgar and profane, but they made their's to be a story. "Detroit Summer" was surprisingly catchy to me. About a week later, it's still stuck in my head with the toe-tapping beat. MTV's judgement on their other video was absolutely ridiculous. If they can put the crap they do on the air, I don't see how they can turn down a video because it has a message about a realistic issue.

On the YouTube page for their video, 99% of their feedback and comments say how good it was and how they were impressed. I never understood what the "underground" scene was or what it sounded like but by what I have witnessed, I may have to look into it.

"this is fuckin sick. Invincible is the essence of hip hop. Hard rhymes, original flow. Whatup doe, keep doing your thing. Shapeshifters was life changing, and this video clearly shows you aint steppin down for shit. peace out"

"I Love the one shot 2 shot beat remixed to this. Lyrics are amazing, flow is great."

catfish

I may be considered gullible, but I personally found the entire story to be somewhat real. I mean, if they were to make a movie on how meeting someone is different then talking to someone on the interent that is portraying an image, wouldn't they make it more exciting? For instance, meeting a pedophile instead of some cute guy; however,it may seem more real in fact being that it isn't that large of a situation, making it believable.

What did surprise me was how he was so attached to this random stranger that he never in fact met. If I were to actually be interested in someone, I would at least "creep" on their Facebook page, making sure that it was all legit. Back when I first got a Facebook, my brother set it up because it was by invite only. I liked how it was like that so it wouldn't be like MySpace where anyone can make any profile that they want and as many as they would like. That is one of the many reasons why people switched to using Facebook. Also, back when everyone used MySpace, everyone friended anyone. Whether they knew one another or not, all of my friends added people they have never seen before. Now days, people actually check out who added them to make sure its not some random creep.

Angela was awful sick to make up a story like she did and go to all the lengths to keep that cover. I cant help but to relate to her feeling though, the feeling of wanting to escape the actual world and people that are around her and see what its like talking to others from other places without them knowing what your life is ACTUALLY like. Most of us usually do have that feeling also, but don't make fake identities. I would never do anything nearly like what Angela did, but its kind of the feeling of it.

Social Networking old school

With Myspace was once at the peak of social networking among users including ages from middle school to adults, they are now on the edge of becoming nothing. What is the most scary thing about MySpace is that theres really now way of telling who is who. 50% of users don't even know who they add when accepting a friend request. One of the glories of the site was meeting strangers and making new friends. But that is also a dangerous thing when it happens on a day-to-day basis. Pedophiles have been have a much easier job finding children. With a nice picture, information about you, and your age, older gentleman can target younger children for their dirty deeds.

On the plus side, law enforcement have been able to use this type of public exposure to bust people. They have creeped on people's profiles to find out where and when illegal activity has taken place. In the article "Social Networking Websites" criminals have often have the tendency to post online their handiwork and brag about it. Although people may feel unsafe with the police monitering the internet, their highest priority has been public safety. CBS did a show called "To Catch a Predator" with a programmer talking to older guys pretending to be a 13 year old girl ,trying to get them to come to a house which is set up with cameras and police hidden inside and out. When they come inside the house, an actor says that she'll be right back. Then the host of the show comes out and talks to him. When the predator exits the house, the local police force arrest him.

I have made fake accounts to mess around with friends. Nothing that can be considered identity fraud. So called cyber bullying has been apart of every social network. Bullying can be anything from threats to teasing. I was once a "victim" of this. What makes it something to laugh at is how anyone can be a bully, siting behind a keyboard typing mean crap. But others may take it more seriously than others.

The New Tube

Over the last decade, the internet has grown to become one of the most used pieces of your daily lives. Virtually almost every aspect of our lives has been moved to the internet; shopping, socializing, and even watching TV. FaceBook is now our way of talking to friends, seeing whats up, and whose birthday it is. But there YouTube has become a site that is now more popular than any other. Originally, it was more for home videos, funny clips, and commercials. Now most every new song has a music video which is immediately posted on YouTube. Many kids upload video clips of theirselves doing stupid things such as:

Others do insanely stupid miraculous tricks like running from the police and evading with some amazing stunt.

I personally do not upload videos for others enjoyment. I DO however watch many videos a day; on average 10 videos. Most of the videos I watch are music videos, and random remixes of songs that can't be found anywhere else.

Another thing that i like about YouTube is how the content is somewhat censored and isn't provocative. YouTube has an entire team thats dedicated to reviewing videos so that it doesn't turn into some filthy site. However some of the videos that are for older kids, require you to have an account so that you can watch a video, and agree to that you are about 18 years old.

The only thing I have began to despise is how every video, the screen gets violated with an add no one cares for. Also, before many clips begin, an advertisement for a TV show or new car comes on. Being that an average video is 3 minutes long, about 10% of it is spent in more things that few people care about. Despite hating these adds, I can't blame YouTube for displaying them, being that they are getting millions for them.

There's no doubt that YouTube continues to grow. As it said in the Future of YouTube, The YouTube reader reading in the epilogue section, YouTube has announced their Beta television. Being that the company is based on people being to upload videos, latest news, and TV/Movie trailers, YouTube is a website that will continue to expand and draw in more traffic and money.
Google buying out YouTube was a great decision.

Even though YouTube is a video website, it still doesn't have all of movies and tv shows. YouTube adheres to legal contracts with companies that have copyrighted production. Other sites, such as Hulu, show TV shows to the public for free.

In the Future of YouTUbe reading, it says that in April 2009, YouTube has officially partnered with Sony to expand their TV and music library.

As it stands, YouTube is one of the top 3 websites used in America, drawing in more ages and diverse people than any other video site.
